Are you looking to renovate your home this spring? Perhaps you’re bored with your current decor?

Want to refresh your home, have fun and experiment with new styles? Then you’ve come to the right place! Especially if you’re not sure where to start—there’s plenty of inspiration in this post for you. We’ve got the inside scoop on home decor trends for spring/summer 2022 from three of Britains biggest homeware brands: Dunelm, Habitat and Next.

We’ve perused their carefully curated lookbooks to find the trends emerging in the world of homewares and decorating and listed them below. (You can rely on giant brands to be on the pulse of what’s hot and what’s not! They have teams of people who pour over data, look at trend forecasts and comb the planet for inspiration—which means they’ve done all of the hard work for us!)

This season, it’s all about curved furniture, an appreciation of nature, global influences and warm neutrals. Let’s dig in and get inspired:

Habitat

Habitat list four collections in their SS22 lookbook: Citrine, Naturalist, Fresh Vintage and Global.

Citrine – This collection features 70s styling, updated with a modern twist.  Think abstract geometrics, pill-shaped forms, curves in cedar green and pastel pink tones.

Naturalist – This look blends relaxed and sophisticated styling with pared-back colours.  It features a mix of soft green tones, bleached wood, tactile textures and leafy prints.

Fresh Vintage – This collection is approachable and eclectic with an elaborate edge.  It pays homage to the “clutter core” trend popular with millennials. It’s simple yet stylish.

Global – Earthy tones dominate this collection. It’s a melting pot of objects, patterns and textures inspired by world travel and wanderlust.

Next Home

Next Home’s SS22 lookbook features a whopping five collections: Olive & Grey, Dazzling Blue, Pretty Vintage, Traditionally Modern and Botanical Adventure.

Olive & Grey – Green, the colour of the moment, rendered in this calm olive tone. Next pair the colour with beautifully crafted furniture and accessories in complimenting greys.

Dazzling Blue – This collection adds a punch of bright blue to a palette of warm neutrals—another one of 2022’s biggest trends.

Pretty Vintage – Next pair purple tones like lilac and grape with heritage style, deco styling and feminine florals for this collection.  The metallic furniture adds a touch of glamour.

Traditionally Modern – Think curated country home. This collection blends traditional and modern styling together. Next pair earthy colours with a pop of golden ochre.

Botanical Aventure – A collection inspired by Biophilia, arguably 2022’s biggest trend.  Bring the outdoors in with lush plants, tropical art prints, oversized leaf motifs and fresh green tones.

Dunelm

Dunelm’s SS22 offering features three must-have collections:  Curves, Pretty Boho and Churchgate.  We love that the retailer consciously designed each collection: sustainable elements feature throughout.

Curves – Dunelm’s design director, Debbie Drake calls Curves a “nod to the sculptural trend”.  The collection features cocooning bouclé sofas, asymmetrical armchairs, abstract artworks and accessories with curve appeal. All in neutral, metallic and black tones. It’s strong and elegant—refined even.

Pretty Boho – This collection is quite the contrast to Curves! It features sustainable cane and rattan furniture, recycled plastic and woven baskets.  Florals and foliage add a finishing flourish: think plants, bud vases and dried grasses.  The collection’s key colours are chalky shades of cream, pink, blue and green on fresh, bright white.  It’s feminine and airy.

Churchgate – This is a grown-up, sleek and timeless collection led by country styling. It features finely crafted mix-and-match cupboards, cabinets and units that will put your kitchen to work.
