The Culture Module incorporates the agency’s strategic research functions and focuses on building and supporting a regional evidence base. The Module is a partnership between Culture South West, the region’s cultural agencies and South West Observatory.

This initiative is a collaborative response by Culture South West and partners to a widespread need for better cross-cultural sector research. The Culture Module’s first stage development is being delivered primarily by Jules Channer, an independent research consultant, working closely with the South West Cultural Sector Research Group. The service offers an authoritative voice on cross-sector research and a central point of contact for collecting and disseminating cultural and relevant research. Unlimited free access to information is available through the online version of the Culture Chapter within State of the South West 2007 [click on http://www.swo.org.uk/observatory/home-1/redirect.asp?link=State_Of_SS ], the bi-monthly e-bulletin Finding the Dots and report downloads from Culture South West [click on http://www.culturesouthwest.org.uk/research/index.asp ] and the Culture Module page of South West Observatory [click on ]. http://www.swo.org.uk/observatory/home-1/introduction.shtm ].
