Culture South West Ltd closed on 31 March 2009 following a review of regional cultural arrangements by the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS). From 1 April 2009, Arts Council England, Sport England, English Heritage and the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council in the South West are now responsible to DCMS for cross cultural sector work in the region. An action plan called ‘Delivering DCMS Cultural Prioritites in the South West’ has been produced and can be found on the DCMS website www.culture.gov.uk Please see below for details of who to contact regarding strategic programmes of work which are continuing under new arrangements post 31 March. Creative EconomyThe SW Creative Economy Partnership will continue with the partnership being resourced by the SW Regional Development Agency and Arts Council England, South West. Whilst the Creative Programmer will be hosted by the Arts Council, their brief remains to work with the whole of the cultural sector and to explore collaborations with other sectors, particularly education, science and health.
